Remember and Celebrate the 5th Eden Alternative International Conference

You may have missed it, or you may have only been able to go to some of the sessions. Do not worry. We have a review of the highly successful 5th Eden Alternative International Conference held June 13-15, 2010 in Denver. A group of attendees will share some of their experiences, the lessons learned, and the inspiration that came from the conference. From Dr. Bill Thomas' opening speech, to the individual learning sessions, to the reigniting of our human spirit, you can experience the feeling of the recent conference.

*Note: This is the last time the Denver Educational Forum will be held at Long Term Care Options.

Aligning Your Rehabilitation Department With the Culture Change Movement.
Plus, Lessons Learned From An Executive Director and Eden Associate from her Culture Change journey.

Much has been written and spoken about the Culture Change movement in regards to the physical plant, nurses and other caregivers, activities, dietary, the building's leadership, and even the maintenance staff. This session is meant to provide some guidance and ideas toward the implementation of Culture Change within the Department of Rehabilitation.

How do we set up the operations? What guidance and training can be provided to professionals with Master’s and Doctoral degrees? What are some results?

—Dr. Tyler Keeter, PT, DPT, MHA. Colorado Area Rehabilitation Director for Infinity Rehab and Adjunct Faculty for Regis University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Jill Vitale-Aussem will share some of her experiences implementing Culture Change initiatives throughout her career including spending a "day in the life" of a nursing home resident to better understand the existing culture and customer service of your community. Jill will also share how Clermont Park is implementing those lessons in the design of the new Clermont Park Health Suites.

—Jill Vitale-Aussem, NHA. Executive Director of Christian Living Communities Clermont Park and Certified Eden Associate.
